IVYDALE ROAD
Extending a charming terraced Victorian house on a restrained budget by forming a courtyard garden on the side return. The layout includes an open plan kitchen and dining with full-width composite patio doors, directly connecting the living room to the garden. The projects shows how new elements can compliment the historic character of the property, using raw materials (exposed bricks and joists on the pitched side return), and bespoke carpentry (shelves, ply-clad kitchen). The carpentry incorporates a feature window seat, forming a lovely cosy pocket. An overall calm interior, with warm timber surfaces and a dark marmoleum floor contrasting them.
