Project type
School Library project
Date
2019
Location
Nunhead, London
Transformation of a classroom in Ivydale Primary School into a school library. Working with the local community and in collaboration with Tom Wilson Studio, the project consisted of introducing a bespoke plywood structure to form a mezzanine. With a book display area at low level and a cosy reading area on the mezzanine, it included bespoke plywood shelves and furniture, together with new lighting. Being a community project funded by the parents' PTA, the Library was officially opened by the Queen Consort on World Literacy Day.
